Brick Squad’s Lex Luger

If you listen to music with full intentions of knowing who the producer is than you might have heard some of Lex’s work, if not, you have no clue who he is. Lex is responsible for some of the hardest singles out this summer and there’s no signs of him slowing up anytime soon. The 19 year old Virginia native was recently just a Myspace producer but after catching up and building a friendship with Brick Squad’s own Wacka Flocka Flame he found himself going the exact route he intended. The first beat that Lex inked was “Hard In The Paint” for Wacka which in result caught the interest of artist’s such as Diddy, Soulja Boy, Pusha-T and more.

It didn’t end with just production for his new in-house team Brick Squad, his next employer was none other then the Bawse. Having two slots on arguably Ross’ best album thus far “Teflon Don” at the age of just 19 is un-thinkable. He wasn’t only recognized for having two production slots on the album but was more excited to hear that one of them became the second single from the album which was none other than “Blowin’ Money Fast (B.M.F.), a salute to Big Meech. His runner-up record on the album was “M.C. Hammer” featuring the Brick Squad captain Gucci Mane.

Are You In That Mood Yet?

With a lot going on in our personal lives it’s hard to generate the time to keep the site updated with the latest and greatest in hip-hop, on a daily basis. So, with that being said, we will be making a couple changes to go a long with the new style of the site. There are plenty of sites that have the resources and time to make daily updates, so we’ll leave that to those guys and gals. The site will now be an outlet for us to show everyone what we think is “good” music with reviews and write-up’s that might interest you. Don’t expect daily updates but do expect something worth reading when the time comes.

Are You In That Mood Yet?“, Joe Budden’s tag-line to arguably one of the greatest mixtape sets to ever be un-heard. Average Joe has been releasing quality tapes for the last, 4..5 years? Ranging from Halfway House, to his album Padded Room then firing up The Escape Route EP which is the prequel to his upcoming album The Great Escape. With all those tapes I would have to say Padded Room was the weakest, which isn’t that great considering it was his album. There was about a quarter of the album that was actually listenable, there was a diss track on the album, really? Though, I don’t think the production on the album was bad because it wasn’t by any means but just the content and the quality of the tracks weren’t on par with what we are used to hearing from Joe. With The Great Escape creeping around the corner I think it will impress a lot of listeners, I say listeners  because most of the mainstream population have no clue what a Pump It Up was or what a Joe Budden is.

With that being said, it was through the Mood Muzik series that caught the ears of most hip-hop-heads out there that became loyal fans of Joe knowing what he is capable of after that set. Here are two loosies off the upcoming and very highly anticipated 4th installment to Joe’s Mood Muzik series. Both of these are produced by Beewirks who holds it down while Joe takes a break from what he made us all accustomed to, J. Cardim production.

Trademark Da Skydiver x Curren$y – J.E.T.S.

From what you hear Spitta was only suppose to be on the hook for this but apparently that’s not how he wanted to do the instrumental which is currently killing the radio. Cop Trademarks latest mixtape installment here.
